I received my mosaic as a Christmas gift. I can honestly say it is one of the most treasured gifts I have ever received. It is a true work of art created with magnificient colors and care. The fact that it will never be duplicated makes it even more special. We have ours on our patio where the colors are brought in to life by the natural light of the sun. I love looking at is I drink my morning coffee.
First and foremost, this work of art represents the beauty of the crafter. Her influence & inspiration on my life began in 1997 as I was completing my student teaching. She was the Instructional Specialist over the special education department where her passion poured out of her. Her passion and dedication has always inspired me to be a better person, become a better teacher and advocate for students with special needs. Now her art is a pleasant daily reminder that life is a precious gift.
The words @ the top with the dove (totally her fitting addition) say faith, hope, love, and Jesus ~ ingredients for a prosperous, fulfilling life in spite of the trials we may face. Each differently colored ribbon represents a loved one diagnosed with that specific cancer. They decided to shape the "tree of hope" into a heart to better represent the love for each one represented by the differently colored ribbons. Wonderful, vibrant grass and flowers add a sense of celebration for a victory to come. The fountain reminds me of Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Lastly, the large ribbon hugging the tree trunk symbolizes LOVE received and given in abundance and it's healing power.
